This Mexican dish is fabulous. Chile En Nogada es fabuloso, y es un plato nacional de México.

  • Popularly served in September, the month of Mexico's Independence Day, it is considered a national dish.
    Representa los colores de la bandera de México.
  • Served at room temperature with white cream sauce made with walnuts.
    La salsa blanca es de crema, queso y nuez de castilla
    .
  • Green poblano chile is stuffed with ground beef, diced fruits (apple, pear raisins), almond and pine nuts, and spices (cinnamon, clove).
    Chile poblano relleno con carne de res molida, frutas (manzana, pera, pasas...), almendra y piñon, y especies (canela, clavo).
  • Garnished with pomegranate, giving the third color of the Mexican flag.
    Semillas de granada adorna la comida con el tercero color de la bandera mexicana... logrando una explosión de sabores.


What do Chile En Nogada and MUSEO ROBERT BRADY have in common?
They are both generously stuffed! This museum is in Cuernavaca downtown (centro). It was a monastery, and then fell into disrepair. American Robert Brady (from Iowa) purchased the ignored property in the early 1960's and restored it, making it into his house. 

Tiled kitchen (cocina) includes a modern stove and traditional stove (center) 

Brady stuffed his home with his collections of art objects from around the globe. I thought most special were the Mexican pieces, and the tiled rooms. I and my classmate, Georgia, were shocked that the objects were showcased without protection, in the same place as it was when Robert Brady lived there. There are no "Don't Touch" signs, but there are "Don't Sit on the furniture" signs.
