About

We are a family of "four hares" that have travelled to many places, and have more to visit.
Four Winter Hares - Nicole Fenwick
Why is this blog site called Four Hares? Because it is named after my family - we are four hares, 3 humans born in years of the rabbit (Chinese zodiac), and 1 canine that was adopted when our pet rabbit died passing its good fortune to the dog. Hare1 is Jane Mother (of college athlete)Hare2 is FatherHare3 is Daughter (the college athlete), Hare4 is Candy Dog.

Jane Sun - grew up in Los Angeles, transplanted to Bay Area. Jane is a lifetime NPR listener.

Attended James Monroe High in San Fernando Valley, studied Electrical Engineering at UCLA, then PhD from UC Berkeley. Benefited from 1980's affirmative action. Worked on satellite systems in LA, and semiconductor chip design in Silicon Valley. Currently retired from engineering profession, and doing projects defined by her, including state park and school district volunteering, and playing music. See her first post.

In Fall 2017, Jane embarked on a 4 year goal to master the Spanish language by 2021. She will use the skill for travel, and to better serve school district and community needs. By Fall 2020 (year of Covid-19 pandemic), she realized that she will need to reset that deadline.

  1. I've never noticed the 4 hares before, but I remember about Lauren being born in the rabbit year... do you remember those crazy rabbits I had for pets for awhile?
