Contrast is Beautiful

I go to Lake Tahoe area in autumn for fishing and fall colors. The prime time for viewing fall colors depends on the weather conditions that year, especially how much rainfall from earlier in the year and length of summer. Tahoe is wonderful all year round but great during shoulder season when there are very few crowds, and fall is a shoulder season, after the big summer crowds and before the ski season.

Tahoe - Spring versus Fall
Early June walk through aspen forest in south Lake Tahoe.
Spring-green leaf and grass grows, few mosquitos.
Contrast this against a fall landscape, shown below.

Late October 2017 walk through aspen forest in west Lake Tahoe.
Flaming golden leaves of trees and bushes.

  1. I really loved going to see the fall colors with you that time we went to Tom's. The aspens are so beautiful. Sadly, our Southern climate and vegetation are not the kind that turns as lovely. Shoulder season is new to me.
